Fishing at Crannmor
The fishing approach at crannmor is to afford the visiting angler an exceptional angling experience using modern equipment and techniques and a detailed data base of fishing reports compiled after each fishing day. Fishing success over the past 5 years have been excellent with many anglers achieving their PBs (personal bests) during their stay. These successes have in no small way been attributed to the foregoing but also to our “ready to go policy” in the event of unfavourable weather conditions.
The season for trout runs from April to the end of September, this is self imposed as it is the best period in which to catch trout on the fly, (the only methods used at Crannmor). Pike (Esox Lucius) fishing is all year round with the best period from mid September to the end of April. It is important to know that after leaving Dublin airport you can be fishing within 90 minutes for pike or trout after checking into Crannmor.
Full range of fishing equipment is available to hire at Crannmor however we do not have fishing clothing. All our boats are modern fibreglass, suitable for Irish Loughs driven by 15 to 40 hp 4 stroke outboards. We have added a 17ft Sylvan boat powered by a 40 hp Yamaha and this has been adapted to fish for pike. Maximum number per boat 3 including guide 4 to the Sylvan, we can cater for 5 anglers on a fishing trip, public liability insurance in place.
Reports are available on our site and are updated regularly throughout the season, specific detail on location is not included as we consider that circumspection is important in this regard.
